The H-S Web site is one of the most abysmal sites I have ever seen. I know of smaller papers in N.C. who run circles around that site as far as content goes (forums, comments, videos, etc.). They almost seem to be in denial that the Web is slowly but surely taking over. Register to view stories? What is this? 2002? And the look of that site is just depressing. Trust me, there will be more cuts to that newsroom. No way that a 32,000 daily nowadays runs with even 40 or so on the newstaff. I know of 25,000 dailies that run on half or less. It's sad but it is the reality of newspapers nowadays.
