I also agree with him, another vote for Sartain. Fetzer and Coble were a joke! They pushed Raleigh back 20 years. This is the new blood we need in Raleigh, not the pathetic members which we see today (Isley and the so called architect as an example, taken from the Fetzer mold)
It says nothing (this thing is ugly). Durham is still a dump (no art will improve that cities image). The "Bull" city alright.
What a pathetic reason to vote for someone. We know that is why people voted for him. Now we will all pay for the un-American, does not salute the flag, calls his white grandmother racist, radical terrorist supporter, no experience person in the White House.
Good reason to vote for someone. I was in the military, this guy is un-American, that is why I did not vote for him (not because of color - as you have pointed out - putting someone not qualified at all to run this office).
Dole has got to go, time for new ideas - I am voting for Hagan (this decision by Dole gives the impression she is accepting kickbacks from the oil industry - $30B/quarter profits are a joke - I look forward to the day when the oil companies are an alternative source and profits drop like a rock - one crooked industry, D.C. and automakers have been taking kickbacks for years - at the expense of the consumer)
First, what a great hire Mitch was for this city (I hope he is here for years to come). A man with great ideas and vision (we should listen and implement this man's vision).
Agree, downtown Raleigh has NOTHING that sets it apart.
1st suggestion: Build a new capital building and make the current one a library (I know libraries that are larger than our capital building. Build one that stands above the trees (40-50 stories tall and is functional).
2nd suggestion: Three 50-60 story buildings, together the peak/top of the buildings forms "The Triangle" - this would be creative architecture (use a NY, Chicago or Seattle firm - NOONE local!)each point and line is represented by our three area colors (Raleigh: Red for Hurricanes and NC State, Chapel Hill for Carolina Blue and Duke (Dark Blue) - each point and connecting line is lit up at night.
3rd: river walk is a great idea! Waterfall is also a very good suggestion (BUILD A NEW MUDCATS STADIUM downtown, the heck with minor league political garbage). Mudcats would sell a number of tickets each game (hey owner, start working on that - in 18 years, I went to one game, will not drive out to that cow pasture - and I like the Mudcats and would go more often if they were downtown)
4th suggestion: an iconic building 60-70 stories with a observation deck and restaurant (of course) - something that says "welcome to Raleigh the gateway to the Souteast), no, not an arch - again, maybe a triangle shape at the top, but very tasteful.
I agree with Mitch. I also think he has been and will continue to be a great asset to Downtown Raleigh (he was a very good hire - everyone should be listening and implementing his vision of downtown Raleigh).
There is nothing iconic about our downtown (and I am a proponent of downtown Raleigh)
Suggestion: Three towers (minimum of 40-50 stories), the top of each tower forms the Triangle region, each point and connecting line is Hurricanes and State red, Carolina blue and Duke blue when lit up at night).
Also, a seperate structure (60-70 stories), something iconic (a structure that identifies Raleigh as the gateway to the Southeast - shops at street level, with an elevator that goes to a restaurant and observation deck (of course).
