I went to Jack Sprat this afternoon for a group meeting (we were all ordering meals, as well) and was treated incredibly rudely by the cafe's owner. I had a cup of tea from a nearby cafe and a friend had an apple (although we had each already placed orders for Jack Sprat's $10 sandwiches), when the owner came over and started yelling at us about bringing in outside food. We had been sitting quietly, had already ordered meals, and were all regular customers at the cafe. His completely unnecessary and vitriolic tirade has convinced us never to return. I'm all for supporting local businesses, but not when they treat regular customers badly. I had always enjoyed studying at Jack Sprat because of its pleasant environment, but was seriously disappointed by the tirade unleashed upon me by its bitter owner. The food is decent, but not worth the price, and I'd rather not go eat at a restaurant owned by the angriest man I've ever met. Just my 2 cents.
