For hockey songs, how could you not list "Hockey Monkey" by The Zambonis and James Superstar Kochalka? Also pretty much everything else by The Zambonis.
I'd like to know who allowed SparkCon, Durham CenterFest AND the Carrboro Music Festival to happen ALL in the same weekend! I am glad that we have so many choices for good entertainment, but we're missing so much due to overlapping events!
I think you have this correction misposted. It seems to belong on the "by water" article.
I saw Ms. Tula Box perform at the cabaret. Loved it! Nothing like whistled versions of old French torch songs. Keep it up, Tula!
I frequent 305 and it would be a massive shame if the place closed. 305 gives you a reason to go to a part of Durham that there is otherwise no purpose in attending. The city's shortsightedness is only amplified in this situation. It compounds the problems like those that have been experienced by Ringside further over on Main St. Half of the buildings in downtown are vacant. You would think that the city would want to do everything possible to keep businesses in the area alive, and bring in more shops and eateries and clubs. Downtown Durham has some beautiful buildings and it's a tragedy that there's hardly anything there.
