Just wondering when y'all are going to get around to updating the incorrect, misleading circulation figure on your mashead. It is grossly unethical to expose another newspaper to public scrutiny, ridicule over declining circulation when your own figures are so inaccurate -- to your readers but more especially, your advertisers. They pay to be seen. When readership is down by a fifth, that is news, or should be.
Sorry about the mistake on the INDY's circulation. I reported incorrect/out-of-date figures from the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies. The actual, correct figures (I suppose) below are from your site, the first the actual distribution, the lower, the number printed.
Apr '08 - Jun '08 39474 44392
Note I highballed the actual number. The INDY has actually dropped below forty thousand, whereas you cheerily publish "50,000" on your masthead. "It is completely inaccurate to state that we've lost 9,000 readers," you wrote. I apologize. In my ignorance, I should have said eleven thousand.
For the good of the planet, perhaps you can just not print the ones you can't give away and use them for enviro-mulch
Good luck Al
Sorry, I reported incorrect figures from AAN. The figures below are from your site, the top the actual distribution, the lower, the number printed. Note I highballed the actual number. The INDY has actually dropped below forty thousand, whereas you cheerily publish "50,000" on your masthead. Tsk, tsk, tsk, a newspaper with a fact problem.
I suggest you reuse the ones you can't give away for enviro-mulch

39474 + 0 = 39474
No coincidence,Zork, that's is for paranoids. I know the man. We have words every now and then over the occasional Guinness. He is getting along fine in his new situations, where he hung his hat after y'all s***t-canned him along with his substantial following, many of whom have followed him to The Downtowner and New Raleigh.
He seems of two minds, somewhere between shadenfreud and genuine sadness, watching the pathetic decline of a formerly fine newsweekly.
Best of luck
Since Hart got his head cut off and thrown off the train. Since you won't come right out and say it, here's the citation from Association of Alternative Newsweeklies. The INDY used to consistently move 50,000 plus.
Circulation: 42,653 (as of March 2008)
While the INDY has dropped 9000 or so readers since the swap-up in editorial, staggering under the debt load from acquiring the Spectator and their fancy scmancy new headquarters. The self-absorbed ones can't even give away a free newspaper!
See below. You need to expand on your column, how "Aunt Debra" was able to establish this arsenal. You have inpugned the veracity of your paper. I don't believe this story.
