Re: “Julia Boseman won't back down

It's very scary to see someone calling Jessie Helms an American Hero. I imagine it was a provocateur who just wanted to create some sensationalism. Blogging doesn't have to be referenced so we can't really tell what people are referring to with or without quotes. We needed someone to come out opposing Helms in a big way. Bless her heart!

Re: “Beers for summer

There is going to be local beer soon, that will beat all at the Fullsteam Brewery in Durham. Watch their website and attend events where they are featured. http://www.fullsteam.ag/. Must try the Sweet Potato beer. Hopefully it will be available soon!

Re: “Carrboro takes on neighborhood covenants in the name of sustainability

Shame on Robeson Place Homeowner's Association! It sounds like I have more freedom in a densely populated apartment complex in Durham where I hang my clothes out to dry on my deck. It will be worthwhile for her to find out if they also have laws against solar panels....I wonder if satellite dishes are okay?

Re: “A gray market for raw milk?

Who voted for this? The NC Dept of Agriculture? One of the state's most glaring good ole boy networks! A highly regressive mandate, it is. The state is, as usual, about 15 years behind the country. This is like the current health care system that will threaten your life, if you participate in it. These days, one cannot sit quietly or a bulldozer will roll over you. Take back our government from the moneyed interests!!

Re: “Drink it raw

This issue is deeply politicized and most opposition to allowing consumers to make their own choices about the food that they want to ingest are usually paid to do so, within the government regulatory bodies. These individuals have been spoonfed misinformation over the years and rely on corporately funded research dollars and stand to effectively lose power and influence of their position if consumers retain that power to make this choice. The information is outdated and current laws need to reflect the new info available.
