The box score on the Bats' site says 6,345. Capacity is just over 13,000.
From where I was sitting behind the Sox dugout, it looked as though Buchholz was having some trouble with the Clay (heh) on the mound. He walked behind the mound at least a few times trying to clean his spikes, moreso than normal.
People are for impact fees because they assume somebody else (i.e. Yankee transplants) pays them. But that is not accurate. Anybody who buys a new house would pay them, and I've moved three times within the Triangle and twice bought new houses. That's why I think a transfer tax is fairer because it applies to everybody who is buying and selling real estate - not just the folks buying new houses.
Re: “Durham Bulls hang on to edge Louisville Bats, take 2-1 lead in International League playoff series”
It would be interesting to know the average Friday night attendance in Louisville and how last night compares. It must certainly help that it's a Friday night, compared to the DBAP games being on a Wed. and Thursday during the school year.
