Durham did the right thing. Allison just loves the drama, doesn't she?
Sanctuary City is bad? Well, not in my mind. If my house was being broken into, do you think my illegal neighbor will inform the police if they will be deported? How about the Latina wife who is in an abusive relationship, could she call the police if she was illegal knowing that for her, the real threat is going back to Mexico. Whether they should be here or not, they are here and I don't want to live in a community where people cannot call the police... for my safety and theirs. Think about it.
Love Dain's Place. Went there the other night on our way to George's Garage. Ended up staying there for more than 2 hours. The bartenders were so friendly and fun. The guy at the door was cool too. AND FOR THOSE OF US WHO DESPISE SECOND HAND SMOKE, THIS PLACE IS SMOKE FREE!!!!!!!!! The fries were delicious and martini's smooth. The music was at a great volume, loud enough for ambiance but quiet enough to chat with friends.
How much more predictable could this article have been? Same old, same old. The places mentioned are great, but could have been found on the Chamber of Commerce's website. locopops, Scrap Exchange and the farmers' Market? C'mon, maybe asking a more diverse group would have unearthed Durham's grittiness more so than just places that 20 year old white people go to.
Re: “Poor? Join the 37 million Americans just like you.”
