Congratulations to Common Ground Theatre, Rachel Klem, Jeff Alguire and everyone else who makes Common Ground so special. This honor is well deserved!
What a fantastic speech! Thank you Rep. Jackson. It takes courage like you showed the other night to stand up against bullies of all ages. We all appreciate your effort, your words and your understanding that all children are worthwhile. Thank you, thank you, thank you from a former 10-year old who loved to dance and act. I made it out of middle school alive and I think many more young gay boys will as well thanks to your efforts.
I too worry that that DPAC will have trouble filling the house in this economy. Performing arts organizations across the board are cutting budgets, shortening runs, and sometimes canceling programming altogether.
Some performing arts organizations will certainly fail in the next few years. If we are lucky we will only lose a few. Can DPAC make it? I'm not sure Durham has a choice. In any case we should be proud to have such a wonderful (from what I hear) performance venue. I'm planning on attending the opening and I hope to be impressed!
Thanks for the heads up on this news. Do you know anything about the ArtsCenter and what kind of new space they will receive?
Hysterical! Always something different and funny. Perfect for a date night! Highly recommend.
