Fantastic southern food, great value, friendly staff. The Know is in a poor neighborhood and is quite the hole in the wall place -- bare cinder block walls, old tables, etc. But we didn't feel uncomfortable at all because the staff were so friendly. It had a happy atmosphere. Even though we were the only Caucasian people in there, no one acted like we were out of place. The barbecue is made from turkey, which makes it healthier, but it was still amazing. None of the vegetables are made with animal fat or meat of any kind, they have a large variety of healthier sides to choose from, and they also have options like veggie burgers and turkey meatloaf. So you get the best of both worlds -- delicious Southern food but not nearly as much guilt as usual!
Went here for the first time last night and loved it. Incredible value for your money. I thought I would be getting a very small amount of food, but it was a complete meal for only about $6. The chicken parmesan crepe and the Oscar crepe (ham and asparagus) that my husband and I had were both excellent. The great thing was that they have whole wheat crepes! So nice to find healthy options. We had a strawberry desert crepe as well that was good but nothing fantastic, as it was made with frozen strawberries and canned whipped cream. I can't comment on the coffee or smoothies since we didn't have anything but water. It's in a strip mall, but it has a nice little coffee house atmosphere inside. Will definitely be coming back, even though it's a long drive from Carrboro.
