We're now up to 41 Senators, I believe. But still no Hagan. Call her, please!
Two thumbs up for Common Ground Theatre! Excellent pick, Indy!
Ed really is the hardest working man in NC politics and I'm proud to call him a friend. Go Team Ridpath!
Nice pick on the ELECTILE DYSFUNCTION II event tonight! (It's listed on Saturday's page, and quoted below.) Tix for both Fri & Sat are available online at Traction's website: getTraction.org or https://secure.groundspring.org/dn/index.php?aid=18879 Don't wait until you're at the door -- early birds and savvy travelers are getting their tix now!
"Electile Dysfunction II: Wrath of the Superdelegates
Trotter Building As defined by Urban Dictionary, the term "electile dysfunction" is a verbal representation of a voter's inability to become aroused by any potential candidates for the presidency. But if words fail to move you, define you or describe your lack of enthusiasm toward the elections, then perhaps Traction's dramatic interpretation of this catch phrase will as Durham's best and brightest gather to empathize with those stuck in political malaise. Skits will cover subjects ranging from the war on terror to the misdeeds of Nixon with direction by Dana Marks, Jay O'Berski and Jim Haverkamp. Live music from the Wigg Report and Greensboro's Invisible should get those political wheels turning and rejuvenate the Democratic (or Republican) soul in even the most flaccid of voters. Get motivated for tonight's show, or catch its first run-through Friday, April 11. The event occurs at 410 W. Geer St. and proceeds benefit Traction."
Note: online ticket sales for each night will come down by 4pm that day.

Wow, very inspiring. Thanks to Matthew for his solid organizing on the unfair drug penalty within the Higher Education Act. And thanks to Fiona for covering it so that the rest of us could be enlightened. (I had no idea.)
It's great to see compassionate and righteous (but not self-righteous) leadership like this by people of ALL ages, and especially exciting when young progressives are recognized for it. Thanks again.
Traction's 2nd annual FESTIVUS for the LEFT of Us holiday-ish bash and fundraiser is going to be crazy kick-ass fun. The auction starts early (5pm) so show up late at your own risk!
We'll have a photo booth, crafty-craft booth, feats of strength (including arm-wrestling, hula-hooping, DDR, lightning boggle) with prizes, and much much more!
Auction items include: an ipod, a week in a mountain cabin, a pregnancy belly cast!, seven hours of meeting facilitation (by the amazing Don Wells, valued at $1200), cooking lessons of all sorts, truffles, yoga, massages, gift certificates to Magnolia Grill and cheaper stuff too, like a night out with me.
I could go on, but maybe then the Indy wouldn't post this comment...
