Easley, Perdue and Basnight are interconnected on so many levels. Just look at the political contributions to Marc Basnight. For instance, in 2008, Basnight received $120,000 from the companies and families tied to Russ and Wes Carter. Russ Carter was a frat buddy of Mike Easley and was subpoenaed in the mess with Easely. Some of these contributors are just ordinary folks with ordinary jobs who make extraordinary contributions.
