Writing about a changing city in 27 Views of Durham
"Tobacco Factory Renovation, Durham" (2007). Indy staff photographer D.L. Anderson: My first night in Durham I slept in an old tobacco factory, the newly renovated West Village complex. It was 2004 and the city was on the cusp of a dynamic transformation. Former castles of cigarette manufacturing were becoming swanky residential, office and retail spaces, with smoking expressly prohibited.
