The truth about the Goathouse Refuge
Last November, tree work needed to be done on the property, so Scarpa reportedly ordered about 150 of the cats to be corralled in the main building and another enclosure, a total of about 800 square feet. The cats stayed there at for least 10 days, according to volunteers who
were there at the time. "The cats were freaked out," says a current volunteer. "You couldn't walk around because there were so many cats. There weren't enough litterboxes. It stunk."
