Re: “Fiesta Mexicana

We have loved these guys for 18 years. Good, consistent food, served by friendly and thoughtful waiters. The staff turnover has been slow, which means a lot to me. This is our default eatery.

Re: “Green Room

The Green Room is such a unique place to spend time. Not only do they have one of the best beer selections on the East Coast, the clientele are people of all ages, races, genders, sexualities, economic backgrounds, and creeds. The only unifying factor between us all is a dedication to dignity and honor that is gently aided by the wonderful housemen. If there were more places in Durham that could sustain this type of active diversity, we'd be a better city.

Re: “One: A Story of Love and Equality

This is a really great effort to capture the views of the equality of love and marriage in the LGBTQ community. I have to commend Becca and Melina for a well put together film to capture the views for ammendment one.. It is obvious they spent a lot of time and effort even when they knew it was a battle just to speak to the community who were for the ammendment.

This is definitely well created and a must see.

Re: “Monuts Donuts

The yeast doughnuts are to die for and the fresh baked bagel sandwiches are erfect. The lines might be long, but the wait is worth warm doughnuts, and a perfectly fried egg on my bagel. Extra bonus? the dinosaur table signs to have the correct food delivered and the eclectic mix of coffee mugs.

Re: “Rogue Band of Youth, Prypyat, Woolens

I've seen a lot of shows at Slim's but this was easily one of the best in a long time. Loved the crooner opener and Rogue Band is always an aamazing act to catch in the Triangle, but Woolens was the surprise of the night. (I thnk they were from Virginia?) Killer live act, packed a wallop. Left Slim's with my ears ringing in a good way.
