Great croque madame, great service. Nice little side spots to sit, away from the buzzing crowd that encircles this place every weekend, with good reason.
Great, inventive beer styles, though likely to be different from what you're used to. The tavern is a fun post-industrial space complete with a good juke box, pinball, and ping pong. They've upped the food options recently, but you can still bring in your own food or get it delivered, which makes it almost like an indoor beer garden.
Great spaces for a variety of art exhibits, including the large Raleigh Room, hallway, and display cases for 3-D work. Classes are offered in a good range of disciplines, for all ages.
Awesome to the bone! We all got lucky , it was warm with no rain (!) or snow! First Night Raleigh was a fantastic melee of music , magic and people-hood. The Celebration of hope began with all day kid activities and makings, joyously , the People's Procession was drummed and piped along with the magnificent spirits created by Paper-hand Puppet Intervention worn carried and inhabited people by all ages . Taking to the streets with earth and the heavens represented is a meaningful community piece, how often do you show your life power and share it with your whole town? The tons of events from Baba Chuck Davis's Dance ensemble to ballroom at the Sir Walter Raleigh comedy , allll kinds of music , it was fantastic. The bands in City Plaza were ripping full of energy giving their all till the acorn ball dropped ( not once but twice, and fireworks x2 were supreme. For what ever first night has or hasn't been in the past, last night it was shining and wonderful. Getting people out, together , to ring in a new year is hope in hand. Making the message last beyond one night's party, might be a miracle, here's to a "new" year! We are banded together!
I went there for the lunch counter specials. I was very well impressed by the food I ate that day. I'll be back with my wife.

Absolutely gorgeous, friendly staff and regulars! Large selection of tea, amazing coffee, declicious pastries from Miel Bonbons.... can't say enough.
very impressed with their selection, authenticity, and ambiance. good prices too.
Jack Sprat has great food at reasonable prices. Their potato salad is some of the best I have ever had, and the sandwiches and appetizers are really good, too, especially for the price. The staff that we have dealt with have always been helpful and friendly.
Really great place - Relaxing and very welcoming - if your in Raleigh you really should give it a try

Wow this place is great. i had so much fun at Bio Ritmo and then Hotclub of Cowtown last weekend. Amazing sound, lights and libations. I danced all night for two nights in a row. Incredibly 9th wonder performed after Hotclub of Cowtown. I was starting to think I would never leave.
Went to see the Chip Robinson benefit at Southland. All I can say is amazing place to see live bands! Finally someone was thinking. Every spot in the entire place offers excellent view and incredible sound. The bar is big, got my beers fast, good selection and pricing. The nicest bathrooms I have ever seen in rock club. I will be back!
My God, this is a fabulous restaurant. My grandmother sent me a clipping from the NYTimes Magazine about it, and so my husband and I checked it out tonight: tamales with delicious side salad, BBQ plate, collards, pickles, ham plate, fried green tomatoes. A beautiful presentation and everything was delicious! Very friendly staff. Will return many times! I would suggest getting there early - they had run out of pork ribs and most pies by 7pm on Friday night.
Address is 1040 Duffy's Way.... On the right outside Carrboro, just before Orange Grove Road... Any directions that say go Orange Grove to Charles Land are OUTDATED...
Excellent venue to see live music! Clean, spacious, good sound, huge bar, friendly staff, big stage, reasonable ticket prices, AND located a few steps from Glenwood South... how conveinent! Southland is unlike any other live music spot in Raleigh.
Are you looking for fun??? Katy's is a great place for fun. Good music and friendly people. No one is a stranger here. Like to dance? Put your dancing shoes on because you won't be sitting.
I went there my first time and had a great time will be returning when ever possible.

Thank you so much for the pictures J Received your separate email with the additional shot as well. I immediately forwarded them to my daughter (she lives in Atlanta). She responded back raving about it! And the ultimate compliment to your talent, she also said that the ring is so me! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your ability to take the thoughts & feel I had in my head and transform them into such a beautiful piece of art.
I would love to see any cuff bracelets you design along this line. My husband said that he would be happy for me to share them with him too! I think sometimes he struggles to capture my taste, but he wants to very much! He’s always very happy when I find something I really like.
It was fun for me to work with you on this project. You are such a wonderful & gifted artisan. Your spirit & ideas just flow! Thank you for sharing that gift. I’ll keep your husband in my prayers. I hope his procedure is a success.
Your very happy customer ~
Nice and friendly venue.
I had the pleasure of seeing this production twice— once in NYC at the Westside Theatre/Upstairs, and again this past weekend in the Raleigh Memorial Theater production. Both productions were excellent, though venues are vastly different and, due to circumstances of the day, the Screwtape character was played by different actors in each one. Steven Hauck's (Max McLean's understudy) presentation in the July 4th NYC version was wicked and deliciously evil, fun, and intimate, which is the nature of the Westside Theatre. For this kind of show, theater in the small(-ish) is superb. But Max McLean's performance at the vastly larger and less intimate Raleigh Memorial carried all the necessary energy to reach out into the bigger venue. Still, I am glad of being seated relatively close to the performers. I am biased in thinking that distance may diminish some of the really fun visual impact of the piece, the impact that comes from seeing facial expressions along with the changes in mood, tempo, lighting, and body postures and attitudues—that constitute the main 'action' in this show. I would definitely see it again, a few more times. Very glad it came to Raleigh.

I love her affordable silver and it is one of my favorite things to give girlfriends as gifts. Always a pleasant and enjoyable experience in store.
