Re: “The Fiction Kitchen

Very good and innovative vegetarian food! Its more on the gourmet side than everyday food, but none the less most excellent.

Re: “Devil's Pizza

This is, hands-down, the BEST pizza that I have had since living in NC on and off for the last 10 years. It's mind boggling that I didn't discover this until now.

Being from Long Island, NY, I have always detested any pizza place in North Carolina because the pizza simply didn't taste as good. Not only is the pizza delicious (thin crust style just like NY is supposed to be), but I was thrilled that they had cannoli!!! You can never find them down here! Like a pig, I ordered some tiramisu and cannoli. Also, I HIGHLY recommend their garlic knots, which are more like garlic fists because of their size. They are so yummy!

I will definitely have trouble staying away from this place ;)

Re: “Wake Forest Farmers Market

I have been to most of the markets in the area and we are truly lucky to have so many choices.
The amount of effort and cooperation between vendors and the managers to create these shopping options, can often go unnoticed by the customers who spend their Saturday mornings leisurely strolling the many venues. I am particularly impressed with the Wake Forest Farmers' Market because this group puts on their show with no corporate sponsors or municipal funding of any kind. It's just a 'organic' community of farmers, bakers, craft persons and musicians who team up and bang out a marketing experience that I find truly enjoyable each time I go. From the lively conversations between the vendors themselves and the often fascinating discourse that takes place when a patron asks a question about something that caught their eye.
Though sometimes a little rough around the edges and not as polished as some others in their peer group, the Wake Forest Farmers' Market stands alone in when it comes to my favorite way to start my Saturdays.

Re: “Ziggy's

Used to be awesome until Ziggy died and new management took over. Same name but culture and location changed, now it's more jazz like a suburban bar and grill with corn-hole on the patio. C-

Re: “The Pig

We do carry out regularly from Pig. Southern BBQ at its finest although I'm from Hawaii. Still there is a common thread and that is pulled pork. These folks buy their meat directly from the farmer who treats his animals kindly so you know you are getting quality meat. Collards, pickles, cole slaw, hush puppies and their vinegar sauce are all wonderful for this island boy. If I were to make one complaint it would be that sometimes they go a little over board with the salt. Anytime we have visitors this is one of the first places we take them to. Oh yeah, the staff are very friendly and the price is quite reasonable.

Re: “Red Lotus Asian Kitchen

This place sucked...The food was bland, the meat was tasteless. Entrees that were supposed to be spicy were just as bland as basic items. Terrible, terrible food...Save your money and dine somewhere else. SACAGA commented above that this is the best Chinese restaurant in Chapel Hill, well she must be the owner or a shill...I can think of a half dozen other Chinese restaurants in Chapel Hill that beat this place hands down. At 8:20PM on a Saturday night the restaurant was mostly empty and for good reason...The food is just plain lousy!!!!!!!

Re: “Ultimate Comics

If you love comic books, come to Ultimate. They have an incredible selection and a staff that not only loves to read comics, but love to share them with readers new and established. The store is incredibly nice and and their events are legend!

Re: “Bull City Records

Great little record shop! And it's all due to Chaz being such a great host. Platters galore!

Re: “Baba Ghannouj Bistro

Baba Ghannouj is a hidden gem in the tangle of bad restaurants near 54 & 55. It does a brisk business at lunchtime, which means the cooks are always refilling the buffet line with freshly cooked food. The cuisine is Mediterranean and the highlights include the lamb with tzatziki sauce, the humus, and the curried chicken. There are plenty of vegetarian options, too. They are currently offering a lunch special of a "cheese-steak" (in a pita) with fries and a drink for $6.

Re: “Pittsboro Roadhouse & General Store

Delicious food, attentive service and charming decor. I recommend the salads as entrees, wine & bread with olive oil. The country store has lots of artistic merchandise. We had a fun time.

Great selection, and Chaz's knowledge of music is unsurpassed. He makes incredible recommendations based on what you like. He hasn't missed a recommendation yet for me.

Re: “Only Burger

I kept telling my husband about how good the burgers taste at Only Burger. We finally were in the area and I surprised him with lunch. Before he even was half way done he was already planning our next visit and what he would order.

You want a great Burger that isn't greasy and actually has real flavor ..... this is your place.

Re: “Rise

This place is right near my house and such a convenient location for the triangle near Target shopping center and Southpoint mall. Yummy donuts, scrumptious biscuits, at Rise you really can't go wrong! As long as you can be a little patient and wait with the others in the out the door lines you'll realize it's more than well worth it! The food is ah-mazing and the servers are always friendly and bright. Their only open till 2p so push yourself out of bed and make it over there ASAP!!
