Re: “Filament Coffee

This shop is in Mebane! Not hillsborough!

Re: “Ashworth Village

They have some really great artists. It's fun, local and they have beer!

Re: “Antonia's

Antonia's is one of my all-time favorite Italian restos in Orange County. Occupying Hillsborough's vintage century-old space once filled by Tupelo's, Antonia's authentic cuisine alla Romana is sure to satisfy your culinary search for the real deal. Their casalinghe fettucine can be customized with any of 6 sauces as well as toppings of your choice. All their entrees are delizioso but my favorite is Filletto della Regina, a filet mignon that melts in your mouth.

Wash it all down with one of their excellent wine pairings and finish it off with a homemade dessert and a caffe corretto, and you'll be singing Arriverderci Roma in no time.

Re: “Plan B

Finally had a chance to visit Bill's new club - FANTASTIC! In addition to the wonderful hospitality Bill and his crew give to every patron who comes through the door, the place is killer cool! Windows 360 around with some huge sky lights, great open space to enjoy music, a nice lounge area, separate pool table room toward the back, amazing patio area outside, and plenty of space at the bar. Great place to enjoy an evening and I can't wait to gig there too!

Re: “Plan B

To me, the most impressive thing about Plan B is the atmosphere and friendliness. The staff, and in my experience the clientele too, go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. The acoustics are good, and every band I've seen play here was excellent; I'd never heard any of them before, and that implies that the bookings has a finger on the pulse of the grass roots music scene of the Triangle like no-one else. Want to see one of the best bands you've never heard of? Come here on a whim. Add to that known local favorites as well and this is a great venue. And if all you feel like is a beer or two and to hang out with friendly people (and dogs), this is a fine place for that too.

Re: “Plan B

Great music venue. Nice folks. Cold beer. Moose the 185 lb mascot keeping it all in line. Check it out.

Re: “Shakori Hills

Love, love, love this place--Shakori Hills Community Arts Center is an outdoor venue that does not otherwise exist in Chatham County or the surrounding area. Its a lovely country setting on an Old Farmstead that could have easily been swallowed by development. The beautiful 72 acres are a mixture of rolling meadows and forests and are home to some magnificent old oak trees, historic farm buildings, and a community garden. Great place to convene with nature and your friends, especially when live music is involved! And camping!

Tickets are $40, not $26 for Col Bruce Hamton. Way overpriced for Triangle

Re: “Pittsboro Roadhouse & General Store

I usually don't take the time to post reviews, good or bad, but this place needs to be shared! I can't think of a better place I'd like to go for lunch, dinner or just about any kind of entertainment. This place has it all. It seems this place is very clean, very well managed, thought out, with a specific goal in mind. Not just providing more than exceptional food, but providing an experience. The wait staff was pleasant, efficient, and on top of everything (even with what looked to be a full house) My wife enjoyed the Gouda Mac n Cheese, I had the Blackened Chicken Alfredo, my daughter polished off a plate of angel hair pasta (she says its the sauce that makes it), and my son loved his hand battered chicken tenders. Portions are very generous and priced just right. It would be safe to say that the PBO Roadhouse isn't the cheapest place in town, but is by no means expensive. We paid exactly what I would expect to pay for what we got. This place has got it all, after looking at the entertainment lineup there, we realized this place is the place to be. Whether you like live music, (any genre, big band orchestra to AC/DC cover bands!), live theater performance, or even comedy shows, this place has it all. We will definitely be making this our regular weekly dining destination. Very much looking forward to a night out there without the kids too! Did I mention they have a HUGE dance floor and a nice bar? If you haven't been there, you need to go.....tonight, tomorrow, (heck, go tonight and tomorrow!) ,or just as soon as you can get there! You're missing out!

Re: “Joyful Jewel

The Joyful Jewel is one of two amazing art galleries in historic downtown Pittsboro, NC. Other venues in town also have art on display for for sale, Blue Dot Coffee, Angelina's Kitchen, and the Pittsboro Roadhouse's General Store, but that is not their primary business. The Joyful Jewel and Liquidamber are both in the block just north of Courthouse Circle, where most of, but not all of, the town's cool stores are. Though there are two art galleries, each is decidedly unique. Both carry items for under $5 and over $500 and every range in between.

The Joyful Jewel is owned by Mariah Wheeler, a versatile artist who works with fused glass, metals and beads creating unique necklaces, earrings, bracelets and pendants. She is also a mentor to a number of artists, and a keen supporter of the arts. The Joyful Jewel features over 160 artists from North Carolina. Photography. Pottery. Sculpture. Woodwork. Paintings. Poetry and other books by local authors. Stained Glass. Unique clothing. Art from recycled items.

For any who love to have unique and original work. For any who love color and variety, the Joyful Jewel is one of the must-visit stores of the greater Triangle area of North Carolina.
