Re: “U.S. Congress, Second District: We Endorse John McNeil in the Democratic Primary

Unfortunately, This candidate is a sellout. Starting out as a staunch Bernie supporter, he has since flipped his position and is now supporting Hillary, even calling her crimes 'OK". On his facebook, he deletes negative posts and blocks anyone who disagrees with him. And, he thinks he can just go "do politics" without the aid and consultation of experts in the field.

This is NOT who we supported when he was seeking momentum. He is an absolute fraud, and I fear what his performance will be like. To quote one of his many egotistical posts "This is the McNeil house - it's gonna be MY way". He sounds like Trump. We, the majority of his supporters, are disgusted by him.

Re: “William Barber: "This Is Violence and Death Gone Wild"

It's time the government designate the Black Lives Matter movement a terrorist organization. They've rioted and destroyed Ferguson, and now they've shot dead five cops. Barber is complicit with his rhetoric.

@Norf

They won't update because the people who write for The Indy are glad there are four dead cops now in Dallas.

Re: “There’s Going to Be an Anti-HB 2 Party Inside the Governor’s House

Denise, you sound mentally ill. How does it make you less safe? Because it makes sure only women can use the women's restroom? In other words, what we've always been doing?

You also don't seem to understand the law. The Charlotte ordiance which inspired HB2 was set up to FORCE churches and religious schools to allow transexuals into the bathrooms, showers, and locker rooms belonging to members of the opposite sex. What HB2 did was preserve the rights and religious freedom of these institutions to say no, and mandated that the government allow for single sex bathrooms based on birth certificates, meaning the mentally ill women who think they are men and the mentally ill men who think they are women CAN go into the bathrooms of members of the opposite sex in government buildings so long they get their birth certificate changed. Private business and places like churches and religious schools can decide their own policy and every non-government institution is free to determine whether or not it wants to let men into women's bathrooms and vice versa.

In other words, HB2 increases freedom and protect people's rights. But that's not the message people are getting because libtards like the Indy keep misrepresenting the truth and low IQ types like you don't seem to be able to understand reality.

Re: “Wake County Judge Michael Denning: 'China Wouldn't Be So Bad If It Weren't for All the Chinese'

Judge Michael Denning stayed on a case where he personally knew the Plaintiff and the Plaintiff's family and friends!!

He based his decisions on what his friends wanted! Judge Denning does not follow the Judicial Code of Conduct, he feels that the rules don't apply to him. As Americans, we have throughout our history we stood up against corruption, we have made positive changes to our country because we have not remained silent in the face of corruption. As a proud American, I stand up against the comment made by Judge Michael Denning during a court hearing, which he stated "China wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for all the Chinese." To the cowardly response posted by panthriot above which tries to defend Judge Michael Denning's discrimination, my response is you're just as ignorant as him. There is no excuse for discrimination.

Judge Robert Rader, Chief District Court Judge has done nothing to address Judge Michael Denning making this comment in the court. He has ignored the issue and even tried to pretend he didn't know he made the comment. What kind of a Chief District Court Judge tolerates behavior like this??? The discriminatory comment was presented to Judge Rader and he removed Judge Michael Denning off of the case but never addressed his discriminatory comment. No wonder Judge Michael Denning feels he can do whatever he wants.

The Superior Court election is in November. Judge Denning should have already been removed by the appropriate officials as a District Court Judge, yet he has the arrogance to run for Superior Court Judge. Could you imagine how terrible it would be if he becomes a Superior Court Judge? If you're not his personal friend, then the case will be lost. Judge Denning should learn that all discrimination is wrong!! There is no excuse for his discriminatory remark and no excuse for him intentionally staying on a case where there was a clear conflict of interest. Judge Robert Rader should also stop letting his personal friendships with the Judges affect his decisions. He is there to serve the public and not cover up completely inappropriate behavior of the Judges. Judge Robert Rader gets a huge salary and instead of acting in the best interest of the litigants in the court, he instead lets his personal friendships with the Judges affect his decisions. Judge Robert Rader, try standing up for what is Right for once. Judge Robert Rader, think about stepping down as the District Court Judge because you have a Judge, Judge Michael Denning whom made a discriminatory comment during a court hearing. You are completely aware of the comment yet do nothing about it. Shame on you Judge Michael Denning and Judge Robert Rader. The court system focuses on serving the public and not both of you making huge salaries and abusing the litigants of the court.

Re: “The Morning Roundup: Things Are Bad

Would you have been happy if the officer killed the white guy? Maybe, just maybe, not all cops are bad. I'm just as pissed about what has happened to innocent blacks s well, but your snark does nothing for me.

Re: “The Peanut Man Goes Home

I was once a Marine!! In 1970 I was stationed at Cherry Point, NC just outside of Havelock. As a PFC just out of avionics school, I and my friends had little money, no car, and not much to do on weekends except to play spades in the barracks. One night we went to the enlisted club and there are two things that cause them to be memorable. First, we started with beer, graduated to whiskey and took our post grad in tequila. When we realized we could no longer handle post grad work we went back to whiskey and finally back to the old standby, beer.

Well, it just so happened that Doug Clark and the Hot Nuts were performing at the E-club. I had no idea who he was. I have sang some of his ditties and found that not many people know who he was. I sing Nuts, hot nuts, get 'em from the peanut man and no one knows it! The other one I liked was the thing about working in Chicago in a department store. A lady came in, wanted a cake one day, I asked what kind she preferred. She said layer so I did, I don't work there any more. There were several verses to the Chicago Dept. store song.

So, to Doug Clark and the Hots nuts for entertaining me with an unforgettable act and the United States Marine Corps! for paying for it, a big THANK YOU!

Semper Fi to all my Marine buddies!

Re: “There’s Going to Be an Anti-HB 2 Party Inside the Governor’s House

This law makes straight me LESS safe. We got along fine when only people who looked like women used the Women's restroom. Now, according to the law, people who look like men (and they are NOT mentally ill - read up on the scientific reasons that a person may have more than one sex in their bodies even though it is not the usual) should also use the restroom. So now anyone can come in. How does that make me safer????

Re: “Guitar Center Is Leaving Durham. Here’s What That Means for Indie Music Stores

Music Loft and Harry's have the soul and selection I prefer to support. We'll be just fine over here in Orange County without Guitar Center.

Re: “Guitar Center Is Leaving Durham. Here’s What That Means for Indie Music Stores

Guitars Center made it possible to go into a store and play whatever instrument you want without some cigar chewing asshole saying "if you aren't going to buy that, then don't touch it". It created a positive atmosphere for young and old musicians

Right, go to your safe place and get a tissue.

When you come back, what do we do about moving transit forward?

Re: “The Durham-Orange County Light Rail Line Is on the Ropes Again. That Might Be a Good Thing.

Let me add the conclusion of the BullCityRising piece here for folks who don't want to take the time to read how it completely dismantles this IndyWeek article . . . just let me add that it backs up every point in this conclusion: "In closing, a lot of the mistakes in this article could be chocked up to a new guy in town not doing his homework. But for a paper that proclaims to fight for social justice, and given that most people riding transit today in Durham and Chapel Hill have incomes well below the median income, (slide 10) INDY Week needs to take a harder look in the mirror and ask itself why it couldn’t be bothered to talk to low-income residents or people of color who ride transit in Durham and Chapel Hill about how they travel instead of letting several older, wealthier white residents with a clear agenda speak for them."

Re: “The Durham-Orange County Light Rail Line Is on the Ropes Again. That Might Be a Good Thing.

I am reposting this note because anyone who took the time to read the IndyWeeks shoddy work needs to look at bullcityrising to understand just how poor the journalism was by the Indy. -- I'd just like to refer folks to http://www.bullcityrising.com for a very good debunking of the above IndyWeek piece which characterizes it as " a poorly researched opinion piece that does a tremendous disservice to INDY Week readers, residents of Durham and Chapel Hill, and—most importantly—current public transit riders in Durham and Orange counties who stand to benefit greatly from a significantly enhanced bus and rail transit network with DOLRT at its core." That's his point and if you read the piece you'll see why.
