Re: “Laughing at Your Counterfeit: On Franklin Street, Mandey Brown Will Take Your Fake

*every single college student with a fake ID who could get me fined and shut down. Try reading it again. it's the appropriate medium to call out anyone with a crappy fake. That's all the article was. Try reading it again.

Re: “Laughing at Your Counterfeit: On Franklin Street, Mandey Brown Will Take Your Fake

I am 23. I will not be going back to Zogs. This is not the appropriate medium for your personal attack on EVERY SINGLE COLLEGE STUDENT who simply wants a drink. You're reasoning that you are stating this to protect your employees and business is withheld until the end and undermines that reasoning. Zogs attracts under agers because it is a pretty shitty bar. This article does not portray Zogs as a place with employees that I would want to buy a drink from, even now that I am 23. (BTW I have had many many friends use fake IDs successfully at Zogs for years. I will, however, encourage them to not continue their patronage).

Re: “Laughing at Your Counterfeit: On Franklin Street, Mandey Brown Will Take Your Fake

I could go in there every day for a month and Jake would never call me anything but "ID?", so if the kids get three out of 5 letters of his name that's pretty good by his standards. Also the worst result of underage drinking already happened in Chapel Hill and the penalty for the bars involved was they each had to close for 90 minutes and pay like a twelve dollar fine, so I'm not sure anyone's livelihoods are at stake. Maybe you should be snatching car keys instead. And playing flash cards with Jake to teach him how to remember stuff.

Fake IDs should only work for voting, not for drinking.... Wait, maybe I got that backwards.

Re: “Laughing at Your Counterfeit: On Franklin Street, Mandey Brown Will Take Your Fake

You can relax at my bar if you're old enough to drink. If you're an underaged, entitled kid, you can't. What I left out of this article is how these kids have gotten physically violent with me and my door guys and have destroyed my property on the way out the door when we reject their fakes. I do not see violent, destructive people as future customers. If you're not one of those, we won't give you a reason not to relax.

Re: “Laughing at Your Counterfeit: On Franklin Street, Mandey Brown Will Take Your Fake

That comment is slutshaming and this article is patting zog's on the back for following the law. this bar is ok but this article makes the staff of this place seem like the last people in town i'd want to relax and have a drink near. and if you accuse someone of being "butthurt" you have the language of the nineteen y/o's youre putting down

You didn't mention Seventy Eight C Spirit, Inc, the first legal distillery in Wake county.

ROBR is obviously butt hurt that his crappy ID got taken away and now he has nothing to do when the other 19 year olds frequent the easy targets....

Geez Robr - stretch armstrong levels of stretch on that slut shaming line. It's about as relevant as your salty review - boy you really put allot of thought into this bar...hopefully when you turn 21 you'll get to bring your actual herpes to Zog's.

Re: “Laughing at Your Counterfeit: On Franklin Street, Mandey Brown Will Take Your Fake

Fakies aside. Who can recall the last time they went dancing at your creepy bar and why slut shame your potential customers, they can grind on whomever they'd like. You're one to talk about running a gross club, the bathrooms in Zogs haven't been cleaned since Hell was across the street. Where else can one get a warm beer, play pool on a tiny crooked billiards table, and feel pressured into buying absolutely horrible folk art decorating your "Etsy-in-real-life" dive. I'm surprised CHFD hasn't shut down your fire trap of a venue, it needs a good scrubbing. Zog's must be drunk speak for herpes, it just won't go away.

Re: “The INDY's Ten Triangle Bar Standbys

Bob Geary, who wrote the blurb, is the founder and mayor of West Raleigh! Ha!

Re: “The INDY's Ten Triangle Bar Standbys

There is no such a place as "West Raleigh". That term was created by Swarm and etc.

Re: “Citizen Award: Judge Marcia Morey Wants to Make Juvenile Justice More Just

Congratulations Marcia! You are so deserving! It takes a lot of courage and commitment to stay with the work you do in our less than perfect criminal justice system. Thanks for all you do for the often invisible and deserving young people in out city.

My email is mdfelicelli@gmail.com. Thank you. This is urgent.

Re: “Citizen Award: Mark Anthony Neal Teaches What It Means To Be a Black Man

The fact that Mark Anthony, who's from a different generation, can find ways to reach the current generation of young people of color, speaks volumes to the rest of us ... And about what we should be doing. Cool write-up.
