Re: “The West Memphis Three are free ... what about the real killer?

Colleen Marie Hennigan - I wonder if you'll ever get your brains back. You know, the brains the W. Memphis removed from your head. If you have done even 30 seconds worth of research you would know that the blood on that necklace was found to be Damian's except for a minute drop that could match aprx 15% of the population including co-defendant Jason Baldwin who often wore that necklace. If you get that brain back, please rotate it enough to absorb the fact that the when that necklace & other evidence was tested, DNA testing was in its infancy and forensic scientists were not able to pinpoint DNA profiles as they do today. For you to post such a completely false statement is really quite disgusting given the overwhelming evidence that the psychopathic pedophile Terry Hobbs was the killer. But then, a River Phoenix obsessive may not be the best target for me to give facts to. La la la la la!!!

Re: “Movie review: Realistic tank warfare and murky ethics in Fury

Just like Tom Hanks did to his tribute to John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart in "Saving Private Ryan", Brad Pitt is doing the same thing as a honor and privilege to his tribute not only to Henry Fonda but also to his astounding tribute to Vic Morrow's "Combat!" television series of the 1960's.

Re: “Adorable flippers in Dolphin Tale 2

DOLPHIN TALE 2 is a rehash of the same story that shouldn't have been remade in the first place. The story was already told once which made the original so entertaining in 2011. You can tell that Ashley Judd along with Harry Connick and Morgan Freeman are totally exhausted and wasted here. And it shows. It's another re-telling of "Flipper" that we have heard once before.

Re: “The West Memphis Three are free ... what about the real killer?

Too many people have forgotten the real crime in the jumbled mess of pointing fingers. If this case, evidence, and depositions were moved into a new state and court, the floodgates would explode. Those boys were not murdered by teens. This was horrid act committed out of rage and jealousy. In every child homicide the parents are the first suspects under the microscope. And that was not the case in this situation.
I came from a small town and have seen how that can blind all parties involved. Nobody ever wants to believe someone they know can do something like this.
A mother's instinct is uncanny. And here we have a mother that really needs to be listened to.
I fear this is going to be tossed around until it's too late to punish the real killers involved.

Re: “Robert Redford goes solo in All Is Lost

This movie is definitely in the running for Worst Movie of All Time. Anyone who has even the most basic knowledge of sailing can give you a run down of everything about this movie that makes it completely preposterous from a technical standpoint, and the continuously poor judgement exercised by The Protagonist that leaves you wishing him dead at every turn, just so you can go home and be done with it.

It's as if a bunch of guys who have never seen water, much less a boat, got together and decided to make a movie about making a transoceanic passage, with predictable success. It's absolutely clear that none of the people involved in making this movie have even the slightest idea of what you would need to know to even get to the point where you would find yourself 1700 miles from land in the Indian Ocean. What is so shocking about this is that this could have been a truly great movie, if only the production had engaged an actual blue water sailor as a technical advisor. It's not as if there is any shortage of them.

Redford's acting is horrendous—he behaves as if he has absolutely no idea what to do, but we are supposed to believe he is single-handing a small craft, presumably around the world, the direction is atrocious—let's start with what direction one needs to sail when in the midst of a huge storm with building -sized waves (hint: you need to sail into the wind, and perpendicular to the waves), and the writer should be put in jail or given extensive mandatory community service cleaning public toilets for this turd of a film, at the very least.

I really don't think I even have words awful enough to do this "film" justice. "All Is Lost" is, indeed, utterly lost, and its only value is perhaps as a lesson for film students as to what not to do when making a movie.

Re: “The West Memphis Three are free ... what about the real killer?

@sasquatch38.....everything you said for Hobbs is likewise for the WM3....I was a Pre-Law/PoliSci major...it's called beyond a reasonable doubt...meaning it's not even about the WM3 being innocent or guilty(which I think they are) but the initial case did not do that for the state either......so keep reading...law books that is

Re: “The West Memphis Three are free ... what about the real killer?

tdotboogy shows the idiot mentality of southerners, inbred white trash without two brain cells to rub together. A mountain of evidence means nothing to illiterate high school drop outs like you and the cops and jury. you deserve to live in that backwater shithole you call home.

Re: “The 99 percent rise up in The Purge: Anarchy

Our disturbing and idiotic preoccupation with being trod upon by the wealthy and powerful leading to a dystopian future is pervasive. Are you all really that scared of standing up and fighting for your rights? Let's try that instead.

The real purge should be the attack and destruction of the corporate oligarchy and it should be every day.

Re: “The West Memphis Three are free ... what about the real killer?

Its obvious those 3 kids did it. What are southerners really that fu**ing stupid. The retarded kid admitted it, until, oh I'm in prison, well cops made me say it. A 4 year old says that when he does wrong. Its sickens me that these kids are fucking free. They done it, I know a sick F*ck when I see one, sorry I have common sense. Ya'll people watch movies and just stick to what they perceive at the end, your a fool. A clown. Of course I didn't do it now that I'm locked up in prison, kid was half retarded and told the truth.!!! THE TRUTH. Until of course a half retard figured out what life was now. And he admitted it to his lawyers, and added I chased the one kid down. HELLO. They should have exempted the retarded kid in exchange for a witness and we would never see this bullshit called . So from this movie I learned, if I get caught for murder n the witness becomes guilty too, we can say the cops made us say it, and then we are freed. WOOOoo. F**cking Dumb!!

Re: “When bondage was innocent

It is hard to figure out where the kinky limits are as the nature of the humans beings are to always crave more and more...... little wonder why things always seems to escalte. However, it may not be a bad thing as human beings are also the only animals of the realm to be burdened with hedonism, which to me is a bliss ;-)

Re: “A study in stillness in Ida

Not to be missed! Near perfect film for adults, with emotional depth and wallop, masterful structure and stunning B&W cinematography. Like a Mozart symphony or Anita Baker album, no gimmicks or wasted moments, just authenticity: this is the world and this is us in it.
I must strongly disagree with the review - "The stillness also represents a storytelling style that's austere to the point of being miserly. Pawlikowski provides very little detail about the central tragedy." All the story's painful facts are plainly there even if somehow you don't know Poland's 20th century tragedies; it just doesn't condescend to the audience by having characters literally tell you what is right in front of you! Hard to understand calling such a raw and emotional film "cold."
There's no violence in the film but rather the nuanced consequences of its aftermath. The title character was played by a young novice actor and while her role is not that strong, the story revolves more around others in the ensemble who were all absolutely excellent, particularly Wanda, Agata Kulesza . There's no emotional manipulation and yet I found a woman sobbing in the lobby. See this on a big screen while its here, don't wait for the DVD.

Re: “A study in stillness in Ida

This movie is a masterpiece. Not sure why the reviewer gave this 3 1/2 stars, mimicking broken IMDB ratings I suppose, which are skewed anyway based on the sheer # of trolls down voting movies just because.

Re: “Superhero spy-jinks

Too many super hero movies and for some reason they all suck and they keep on remaking the same old crap....Heck now days tv shows are better than movies......Game of Thrones....Walking Dead, Silicon Valley just to name a few....and people wait for months to see them and they usually garner millions on the premier night...AMC .FX Showtime,Hbo....these guys know how to make movies..even netflix is doing ok.....but CBS NBC ABC still suk.
