Re: “The New Southern-Latino Table author Sandra A. Gutierrez

I went with 3 others to hear her talk about this book at the Regulator--she was fabulous! her formative story is so interesting, and her discussion of the how Southern and Latino foodways intermingle makes this food already something that we know without knowing (I agree with her here!) and gets me thinking about new-food experimenting.

Re: “Lunch with Joe Kwon, The Avett Brothers cellist and Taste on Tour blogger

love the haikus! And LOVE The Avett Brothers! And (as a former chef) now even better - to know you have a foodie in your midst! Just caught the Indianapolis concert - brought my best girlfriends and our teenage daughters. One of my daughters thinks the cello is the highlight of the band. Is it difficult to find good food while on the road? Or does it just take some time on the computer - searching it out? Hope you found some good food in CHICAGO? We are FOOD CENTRAL! Will catch you in Milwaukee in November. LOTS of good pork options there! If you need any recommendations for food spots while in the midwest - we'll be glad to help. Keep up the great work.

Great article on Joe. He's a talented photographer in addition to his musical pursuits.
