Re: “Two Brothers Funnel Their Nostalgia for Eighties-Era Durham Summers Into New Netflix Series Stranger Things

Ok guys, just finished off a binge watching session of Stranger Things, and got curious to research about it and researched and made this. Its mad to think that there is a true story to it.

Re: “Two Brothers Funnel Their Nostalgia for Eighties-Era Durham Summers Into New Netflix Series Stranger Things

So Awesome and great Job Duffy Brothers. Series had me captivated and so sad now that it is over cause it was so great. The characters were well developed and everyone of the actors did an amazing job. Please keep it up cause you won me over as a new fan. I was born and Raised in The Bull city and us Durhmites never say die like the Goonies. That mentality bleed through the characters and now that I know Durham had an effect into the mind frame of the writers as they created this show. As a fellow Durhmite artist, it makes me proud to see other Durhmites and their Art flourishing, and doing a great job at it.

Re: “Lizard Lick Towing's Ron Shirley and the mythical promises of reality television

I love the show. I was surprised my husband was watching it and not telling me. We started recording & watching them and skipping thru all the commercials. We would have long days devoted to the LLT show and rerun days the last 3 months just to catch up on things. Now I'm horrified if they have sold the business & if trutv doesn't keep their show going or their lives on tv. I knew they had That "Something" and when I saw scripture etc and no cussing &. Ronisms, I was thrilled that I found a show that is good & morally sound with decent humor, entertainment without nudity, swearing, & nastiness. Praise God for bringing them to the tv world! I hope more shows are on tv like them. Bring them back & let them grow into Americas Positively funny role models & entertaining Repo towing! hear this Trutv! We need more new shows from Lizard Lick Towing! The show has to go on! Sign Lizard lick towing for more shows & pay them more even if there are reenactments or scripted! You said they are funny...let them be funny then & show themselves to the world. We already love them. It's not even publicized enough. No One in Oregon knows who Lizard lick towing was until I started telling all of my friends! Mass market them! Do your job! Don't just do a test run on Two seasons! Get them going! I know they'll go for a long time, if they are marketed right & don't sell out. Let Bobby be married too! If he's married, let the single ladies & Juicie lust after him, but if the show hasn't ruined his marriage, let his marriage be part of who he is in the show! People still respect that & still find him adorable & sexy! Amy is too, and she's married to Ron! Ron is adorable & devoted to Amy, yet this World needs real people who have hard times and still pull together at the end of the day as family & friends & we all want a team to root for! Go team Lizard Lick with Ron, Amy,Bobby,Juicy, Krazy Dave, & everyone else we have yet to meet, Go team .WE LOVE You ALL!!! Heather & Jonathan (JP) Parish

Re: “Lizard Lick Towing's Ron Shirley and the mythical promises of reality television

Things must have changed a lot in the repo business over the years?
When I was a Young lad in NJ, I always asked to have a police officer meet me at the repo site to avoid the problems these guys have. Another problem they are having did not exist for me either, that was the keys to the vehicle. The finance company supplied a set to avoid contact with the stiffs.

Re: “Is Breaking Bad's Walter White beginning to resemble MacGyver?

Thanks, Eric. Your point about Jesse and the magnet idea is a good one, but I still have a hard time believing Mike wouldn't kill Walter, as close as he's come before. He may like Jesse, but he REALLY doesn't like Walter. That scene on the desert road seemed like melodramatic fluff to me. I had other quibbles that I didn't want to mention because I didn't want to commit a "spoiler" -- like the contents on the laptop not being immediately viewed by Hank. Anyway, in the bigger picture, my initial reactions will probably seem even more nitpicky as the season continues, and I have reason to hope so -- the second episode is really gripping, and some dodgy stuff is (sort of) explained away.

Re: “Is Breaking Bad's Walter White beginning to resemble MacGyver?

Coming up with the general idea to use a magnet isn't "scientifically clever." I watched this in a room full of random non-science-y people, and three of the four of us said "How about a magnet?" before Jesse said it. Besides, Jesse may be generally dimwitted, but he's been shown before to actually have some aptitude for science - the show has commented on this several times (usually through Walt).

On the subject of Mike, the character contortion would be if he DIDN'T have a soft spot for Jesse. This has been painstakingly set up. He's a grandfather. He feeds chickens. Mike is a professional killer and in some respects a cold guy, but I can easily believe that he has a certain softness and decency to him, and that he feels some affection for this knuckleheaded, damaged kid dragging along in Walt's undertow.

Re: “Lizard Lick Towing's Ron Shirley and the mythical promises of reality television

Amy you are absolutely beautiful as a person and with your hubby. I love this show I love it. I laugh constantly when watching. Staged or not we need some laughter in this world. Good to know Ron is a Pastor lovin that. I do need to say one of the reasons I watch the show is the "mans, man Bobby, I'm not kidding and have never done this before I have a mad crush on that country boy. I would love to chat with him sometime, I am not some crazy person I am a beautiful woman, with a good heart, and just love watchin him, I know he is a good person, just watching him. The temper, is that real? hey, we all get worked up sometimes. I am serious I truly am not some freak I just think you all are fun and I do love watching the show. I am going to try and email and give you my email and maybe Bobby will email, really I would just enjoy talking to him.
Thanks for the entertainment, love ya all. Carol from Washington State.

Re: “Lizard Lick Towing's Ron Shirley and the mythical promises of reality television

I just discovered your show last night and found it highly entertaining. I love y'alls Southern accent and Southern way of talking.
Then I find out y'alls last name is Shirley. So is mine. Now, I realise it is highly doubtful we are directly related, it is possible that we may have a common ancestor and I am interested in pursuing that possibility.

Sincerely,
Jimmy L. Shirley Jr.
