Great selection, and Chaz's knowledge of music is unsurpassed. He makes incredible recommendations based on what you like. He hasn't missed a recommendation yet for me.
I've seen more great music and musicians at Billsborough Music Hall in the last couple months than I have the previous 20 years. The musical diversity is amazing and will please everyone. Our favorite is Jazz Night on Wednesday's. DEM Guys is GOOOD!. The bar staff is friendly with great selections. They keep you coming back with a smile!
We recently played Bill West's Billsborough and had a heck of a good time. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, the choices of beverages was excellent, and the locals were warm and appreciative. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. I suspect it's not a well kept secret that Bill knows the biz from years of performing and knows how to treat his staff, clientèle, and entertainers. The room has such a great vibe to it. The remodeling he's done really enhances it. We can't wait to get back.
Beautiful inside, great beer specials, perfect acoustics, awesome staff, and a homey feel. Plus they book acts you're not going to see anywhere else in the area, such as Charlie Hunter.
I played recently at Billsborough Music Hall and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great music environment that's "dog friendly" and listener friendly. Bill West, the owner, really treats his audience and the musicians who perform there with respect. He's got a beautiful huge Newfoundland dog, Moose, who really made a big impression when Scott Sawyer and I played there. Can't wait to play at Billsborough again!
Billsborough is a great intimate live music venue, where the music is supreme. The people love it, cause Bill is the consumate host that knows how to show you a great time. The artists Love it cause they know Bill is a highly skilled singer/songwriter, (Artist) that knows the struggle. His experience playing and entertaining go hand in hand with his warm personality. This Brother exudes Love. The place is dog friendly too. I have played there and had many a dog to come up on the stage and hang out with the band'. - ) Not to mention a hand picked staff of great people and a fine selection of refreshments. In a nutshell, 6 words, "If you go, you will know".
I love music, but dislike big concerts. I'm more of a hang-in-the-garage-while-the-band-practices kind of gal and Billsborough is right up my alley! Cozy ambiance with great service! There is even a designated dance floor and an alcove for darts. Womens restroom was FABULOUS--cleanest (and nicest) venue bathroom ever! Looking forward to being able to visit again.
An awesome venue. So glad someone opened up the old Blue Bayou. It's very friendly and the music is outstanding.Don't forget that it is also dog friendly.
Owner Bill West is doing all the right things to make this small venue an important one for his audiences and musicians alike. He's booking quality local music acts as well as regional and national name artists on tour. He's varying the musical genres that are offered. He's trying to make Billsborough a place unique to the Hillsborough and Orange County.
I came here once visiting from Chicago and I wish I could take this venue with me. I had a great time listening to open mic players and the owner Bill is my personal hero.
Connolly has closed Doherty opened Oct 8th 2012. There is not currently open Mic but live Irish music every wed @ 6pm & live music every Friday & Saturday night!
I am not sure how they come up with the event listing, but we have a Featured Artist's Reception every First Sunday of the month, from 2-4pm. The reception is open to the public and we always have live music and complimentary food and wine!
This photography organization is the hottest thing in the Triangle's arts scene. They are internationally celebrated and now have a project space right here in the Triangle! Their events are great fun and filled with incredible and inspiring visual content. I have nothing but good things to say about Daylight and their Project Space in downtown Hillsborough!!
Jesse is awesome! All I have to say! Mans got skills... WHAT A COCKSMEN!
You should update this listing. I believe this restaurant is called 604 at West Village and their website is: http://www.604westvillage.com/
This is the best Italian I've had in Durham. I have come here many times, and never go home disappointed. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is great too. Great outdoor seating area.
Have taken Adult Beg Aerial and Flamenco here. Both great experiences and fun teachers. I would go back. I recommend this place.
Delicious food and great atmosphere!
This place is exactly as advertised....the Social Crossroads of Chapel HIll. Food's good - they just won the Shrimp and Grit Throwdown in Chapel Hill - service is friendly and I when I was there last there was a wedding going on downstairs, their Back Bar was packed and we still got great service in the upstairs restaurant.
The Haw River Ballroom is an amazing new performance space set in historic Saxapahaw, about 15 minutes or so from Chapel Hill & Carrboro. The venue itself is very visually arresting with exposed brick, artifacts from the original manufacturing space and enormously high ceilings. The acoustics are outstanding, and the artisan beers are great. What more could you ask for? It's wonderful to have such a compelling venue in this hip little village and judging from the artist's reaction that I've seen perform there, we're going to see bigger and bigger acts making the trek to the Haw River Ballroom.
Re: “Bull City Records”
Great little record shop! And it's all due to Chaz being such a great host. Platters galore!
