I enjoy seeing the Skids every year at the Cradle for their end of the year show they usually have for the Chapel Hill crowd ! Im never disappointed by the music they play, Rick's twang grinding guitar and Mary's.... what look's to be effortless playing like she has possesed her bass guitars' soul and the ever ponding beats Of Daves' drums having a trance like effect over the crowd and the guy that is always at their side but seems to be never mentioned Tim Barnes giving them a complete large and polished sound ! I love hearing all my favorites....Bannana Puddin... Dirt Track Date....Voodoo Cadillac and even some new material from their recent Ep... Zomified which was great to hear ! But they should think twice about the crowd they invite on the stage ! I think their songs bring a great feeling of fun and joy as they amp of the crowd ! But I have a real problem when playing one of my favorites.... "8 Piece Box" and have the invited crowd on stage to chew on chicken and then throw pieces of chicken from the stage like they are throwing a baseball in a major leauge game ! My girlfriend was hit in the eye with one such piece and caused me to really look twice at the antics as uncalled for... if not just plan gross and rude ! Im there to really to enjoy and let loose with the music I love but now have to possibly for go their next years show just to avoid possibly getting my eye put out by an uncaring fans with no reguards to the other members of the audience and their enjoyment of a usually great and fun show ! I guess I can just listen to the Skids at home and enjoy the music without these kind of antics in my living room where I have the safety of not being pelted in the face with a half eaten piece of chicken ! My hat's off to the band and their great tunes but not to the crowd......from a loyal and faithful listener since their beginnings ! Thanxs !
A note to casual Todd fans attending this concert- You will NOT be hearing his "hits" like "Hello, It's Me" or "Bang The Drum" or even anything off of this latest album "[re]Production" described above. What you WILL experience is Prog Rock at it's best. This should be billed as Todd Rundgren's Utopia because that is exactly what you are gonna get...original members re-forming after 37 years. They will be performing most of their 1st two albums "Todd Rundgren's Utopia" and "Another Live". Enjoy these fathers of prog rock & enjoy the groovy costumes! Candy for the ears, eyes & soul ... Enjoy!
I wanted to enjoy the festival. Loved the bands. It was a beautiful night, the vendors were decent, the crowd was happy.....however the sound was the worst I've heard in twenty years. For goodness sake, invest in a good sound system, and the people to run it.

Band was great Cover Charger Bs after 11:00pm for a decent band off the main stream w a hour before they shut down
I ha d plans for alot of people meeting us there and we are there every 2 weeks, some new girl blew it I won,t go back with out a apoligy funny thing is my wife s from there
ditto above. crowded. busybusy. we're regulars & we had to wait or take a table away from the music. we ate anyway. food is always good. service a bit slow. music sounded good but we couldn't really see.
The party doesnt really "start" til about 10. so charging people 12 dollars was ridiculous!
