brazilian creations at the Red Door, 1616 Jordan Drive, Saxapahaw, NC
by Ely Urbanski
I'll show a set of works was made in the 1990’s. Some of them were created when I was still attending Art School (School of Communication and Art of the University of São Paulo) in Brazil. They are traditional media prints: etchings, drypoints, mezzotints, silk screen and lithography. Among them are the few prints on paper where I have worked with colors. Many of them have São Paulo city subway system as the main subject. They depict details of stations, train cars or passengers in figurative or abstract ways. Starting from the actual physical places they suggest a reflection on the passengers’ psychological state of mind while commuting to work or school.

Who painted the walls to match the paintings and what were they thinking?
Hi Kala. We had it as two events (one on the first Sundays, another on the third Sundays). I've combined them here. Thanks!
It's actually 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month : )
