2005 Indy Voting Guide 

Voters are heading to the polls in Orange County in a variety of local races and to decide on a county school tax, in Wake County for a number of municipal elections and a school board runoff, and in the City of Durham for runoffs and bond referenda. For more information or to find out where to vote, in Orange call the Board of Elections at 245-2350 or go to www.co.orange.nc.us/elect. In Durham, call 560-0700 or go to www.co.durham.nc.us/common/db-dept.cfm?ID=2. In Wake, call 856-6240 or go to www.wakegov.com/general/elections/default.htm.

Note that early voting ends on Nov. 5, and Election Day is Nov. 8.

  • Board of Aldermen (vote for three): Jacquelyn Gist, John Herrera, Randee Haven-O'Donnell

    Chapel Hill

  • Mayor: Kevin Foy
  • Town Council (vote for four): Mark Kleinschmidt, Laurin Easthom, Bill Thorpe, Will Raymond

    Chapel Hill-Carrboro Board of Education

  • (vote for three): Lisa Stuckey, Pam Hemminger, Jean Hamilton

  • Mayor: Tom Stevens
  • Board of Commissioners (vote for two): Mike Gering, Frances Dancy

    Wake County Board of Education

  • District 1: Lori Millberg
  • District 9: Eleanor Goettee

    Durham

  • Mayor: Bill Bell
  • City Council, Ward 1: Cora Cole-McFadden
  • City Council, Ward 2: Regina Stanley-King
  • City Council, Ward 3: Mike Woodard
  • Bond referenda: YES on all eight
