Sit-in trouble

On May 2, the 16th day of their sit-in over sweatshop labor used to make UNC-Chapel Hill merchandise, student protesters entered the chancellor's office, refused to leave and were arrested.

Note of clarification: that isn't Salma Mirza's blog; that's a collective sit-in blog of all the protesters and members of UNC-CH Student Action with Workers.

We'll be hosting a former UNC sweatshop activist Marion Traub-Werner (from class of 1999) on Oct 31 at 3:30 pm in Saunders 220 (UNC) who will be speaking about "Sweatshops and Students in the Global Economy". Open to the public. It's high time for UNC to work with the Designated Supply Program and go sweat free!
