InterAct is a private, non-profit, United Way agency that provides safety, support, and awareness to victims and survivors of domestic violence and rape/sexual assault. InterAct fulfills this mission through the support of its volunteers and community.

Youth United Battle of the Bands is a family friendly event featuring some of the best on-the-rise youth bands from the Triangle. Bands will battle for the top two awards on the main stage at Motorco. A panel of music professionals and the crowd will determine the winners. In addition to awesome live music, concessions including pizza and cupcakes will be sold at the event. This is a fundraiser for Youth United Habitat house builds. Durham based Merge Records and ReverbNation are helping to sponsor the event. Admission is $10 at the door and presale tickets are available for $5 at www.purplepass.com/yubob.

I saw "Apocalesque" in December at the Artscenter, also produced by Sirona with some of the same performers, and it was incredible!!! Nowhere else will you see this mix of incredible talent across so many performance and dance styles - hooping, tassle-twirling, aerial dancing, acrobatics, modern, belly dance, pole dancing, OMG! Seriously, don't miss it.

Overall the show was a great success. Luna's Lament proved why they are one of Charlotte's top bands, while Modena owned the stage with their own swagger, giving fans a glimpse of a few songs off of their new album. Both bands played high velocity songs that kept the crowd alive. Third on the list was The Tempered Machine. This was their "reunion" show, and it was pretty amazing. It was said they hadn't performed together in over 2 years, but it fely like they hadn't missed a beat. The drummer played a tiny Ludwig bop kit that produced a huge sound, while the bass player kept the crowd involved throughout the set. They were a great mix of Alternative hard rock mixed with some slower, bluesy tunes. The etherial sounds of Fields of Mars toned the show down a bit, but the the lead guitar and bass work really kept those guys tight.
I would definelty suggest goping to see all of these bands again. It was a great show, and I wasn't let down at all. For $5 it was totally worh my night.

Breadfoot live is as much a game of checkers on the front porch as he is a cold beer on the stoop. He has shared the stage state side with The Avett Brothers, Regina Spektor, Kimya Dawson, and Langhorne Slim and in the UK with such acts as the Decemberists, Richard Buckner, and the Larry Love Show Band (the acoustic branchof Alabama 3). He has written and recorded albums with both Anti-folk legend and Ramseur Records recording artist, Paleface and The Vixen of the Violin, Anna Phoebe.
Breadfoot’s music was recently featured in several episodes of Roadtrip Nation (www.roadtripnation.com) on PBS. You can also find his music in the documentary 10 MPH (www.10mph.com). In addition, Breadfoot has contributed music to a work in progress reel for the locally produced original full length documentary Bringing It Home (www.bringingithomemovie.com), now in production.
Breadfoot has written and recorded music for the You Tube video series With Uncle Pappy. He also has written and recorded music and created videos for a You Tube community sourced online story-making game called the Viral Sockpuppets, (www.viralsockpuppets.com) as well as music and video for Chatham Arts’ ClydeFEST and another short piece called Curbside showcasing Artcars from the 2012 Artscape Artcar Parade in Baltimore, MD to be featured at the Outsiders Folk Art Festival the Doo Nanny in Seale, AL. this spring.
For 2013 Breadfoot is focused on recording his third full-length album to be titled Salvatella. Demos for two songs from the album Salvatella , For My Sake and the Weight Of Your Hand can be heard at www.soundcloud.com/breadfoot.
