The North Carolina General Assembly met Wednesday December 21, 2016 in their fifth special session. This latest session carried expectations of a repeal of HB2 based on an agreement that the NCGA would fully repeal HB2 if Charlotte repealed its Non-Discrimination Ordinance, which it did a day earlier.At the end of the night, however, there had been no movement on the full repeal and both the NC House of Representatives and the NC State Senate adjourned for the holidays. ...

Made up in Ziggy Stardust make-up, Mitchell Bratton, right, who performs under the name Dr. Fritz Rotwang, and his daughter, Randi Bratton, left, sing the David Bowie song "Heroes" during a special Pop Up Chorus the night of Friday January 29, 2016 at Motorco in Durham, NC. Attendees were led through, and performed, Bowie songs "Starman" and "Heroes." Following the performance, the accompanying band performed a short set of David Bowie songs. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the night went to the Be Loud! Sophie Foundation to help support adolescent and young adult cancer patients and their families...
